I'm trying to use autogk with autoxvid and keep coming up with a message from autogk which says "You have to select input directory/file first." autoxvid is attempting to pass control-o to autogk when this happens. On further investigation, calling up autogk alone and attempting to type the control-o in by hand, the same message pops up as soon as control is hit (don't have to hit the o). I've tried a different keyboard in case it was something strange with the keyboard but got the same result. Can anyone help?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

First time I read about AUTOXVID; is it this one? : http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25929

If so you will better ask for help in the other forum, if not please give us a link...

I already posted n that forum. My experiments with autogk (without autoxvid) indicate that my problem is with autogk. I get the same message popping up if I hit control on my keyboard after calling up autogk alone. I don't even get a chance to hit the o to get the open dialog. Whenever I hit control (whether simultaneously with another key, before or after) I get the message popping up.

Silly question, perhaps, but do you have any other program installed (Possibly running in the background) that makes use of the "Control" key?

Not a silly question at all. I used enditall to kill most processes and autogk did the same thing. However, running in safe mode, ctrl does not do anything and ctrl-o brings up an open box like it should.

It seems to be some sort of driver. Thanks for the suggestion.
