Hi fellow forumers.
I'm having an issue with AGK concerning sound. Basically whenever I convert anything, and I've tried several different movies including ones I've previously transferred successfully, the sound comes out sounding very slow and muffled to the point I can't tell if its even out of Synch.
My main problem here is it just started. I hadn't installed or uninstalled anything or changed anything in particular that stood out to me. At the time I didn;t have access to the Internet so I thought it was some sound issue that needed to access the net to update and was being blocked until then.
But now I have the net back, I've uninstalled and reinstalled AGK again and still the same results. I can't see any particular sound options in AGK apart from the basic one in the button next to Preview which I've left defaulted since I got it.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

Hi,
Need more details, 2 questions:
- Do you encode sound to MP3 or just use original ? (post a log maybe)
- You think it is an encoding problem but to be sure it is not a decoding problem, have you tested one of your problematic files on a SAP or another computer?

In advanced settings I have it set to VBR MP3 128Kbps. Thats the only setting I know of so if its using original I couldn't tell you. If you tell me how to find a LOG though I'll post one for you.
The files play perfectly fine from the IFO. Its stranghe though. I've turned my Escape from NY dvd into an AVI and it worked fine. However when the problem started happening, I tried to do it again as a test of a file I know had worked and it had the same issue. My Children of Men and FF7 Advent Children don't seem to work but Five Girls does. I just don't understand where the problem came from.

In the movie directory you are working on, it is named XXX_agk.log (XXX for the name of your encode). Open in notepad copy/past in your post here.

This is the only log style thing I can find.
[16/05/2007 01:23:30] AutoGK 2.40
[16/05/2007 01:23:30] OS: WinXP (5.1.2600).2
[16/05/2007 01:23:30] Job started.
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Processing file: K:\Final Fantasy\VTS_01_PGC_01_1.VOB
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Source resolution: 720x576
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Found PAL source.
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Source aspect ratio: 16:9
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Color correction enabled.
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Output will contain 135808 frames
[16/05/2007 01:25:09] Job finished. Total time: 1 minute, 38 seconds
As for your other question, I don't have any other computers available to me and I don't know what a SAP is :(

Hi!I don't know what a SAP isIn this wonderful world of too many abbreviations, "SAP" means StandAlone (DVD) Player ;>}

I've tried the original IFO on them, works fine. Not converted the AVI to DVD then used it but I know how that will turn out.
And when I saw SAP I just thought of something Spanish ><

Hi,
Does this means your sound issue is solved?

No, sorry. I meant I've tried the ripped IFOs as burnt DVDs on a stand alone DVD player and those work. They work fine playing as well.

Works perfectly fine though if i try and get a new avi using the exact same IFO, it ends up with the same sound issues as some of the others I'm trying. Which is why I'm so confused.

You might want to perform a "System Restore" back to the last date things were working properly...

Ok I've realised the problem.
Its the 6channel audio vs the 2 channel audio. I'd not realised because some of the IFOs only contain 6 channel audio but using others I've realised that as long as I select 2 Channel audio it works ok.
However this creates another problem obviously when theres no 2Ch option. Does AUtoGK have a way of working with this or another program to filter it into 2 channels before using AGK?

AutoGK should correctly convert the 6-channel audio to 2-channel. If you can't make it work within AutoGK, try DGIndex to demux the audio, then convert it using Besweet along with BeLight.

Please explain the following apparent contradiction:I've tried several different movies including ones I've previously transferred successfully, the sound comes out sounding very slow and muffled to the point I can't tell if its even out of Synch.andOk I've realised the problem. Its the 6channel audio vs the 2 channel audio

With Escape from NY, I'd used the 2 Channel audio since I;d read a tutorial and understood it to be a better alternative if I wasn't going to use some fancy audio system. I'd just never noticed with the files that aren't working that 2Ch was never an option.

This sounds very familiar , I had this problem recently and found what I believe to be a system restore problem. I know your all thinking he´s lost it . Basicly for some reason windows was using 20gig as allocated space for system restore, when it only needs about 200kb. When I set it to the lowest possible settings, bingo. Hope it works for you.

@darkwarrior
Actually, you didn't have a choice, unless you purchased both of the following versions ;>}Standard Edition: Available Audio Tracks: English (Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo)
Special Edition: Available Audio Tracks: English (Dolby Digital 5.1), French (Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono)

*shrugs*, I have the Escape from NY IFO open in Auto GK and I have the option for 6CH Audio, 2 Ch Audio and 2 Ch Audio (Directors Commentary). All I know is I have A version of it.
