extracting dvd-menu

I have to extract the menu structure of a DVD. For the structure itself I can use libdvdread, right? But howto get screenshots/pictures of the menus (one screenshot for main menu, one for "chapters", etc)?
Is there an easy way to automatically get screenshots from any dvdmenu? Maybe with the Linux mplayer (-vo png)?
