Ok, so I'm trying to convert my Kolchak The Night Stalker Season 1 DVD into Xvid with AutoGK. The source DVD aspect ratio is shown to be 720x480. What I want to do is convert from the DVD to Xvid in the exact resolution as it was on the DVD: 720x480. I've been playing around with the auto width and fixed width, but the output file always comes out in some odd resolution, and its always either slightly cropped or slightly sqeezed. I just don't understand why its so hard to get a 720x480 to 720x480 rip.
The reason I wanna do this is because I want to watch them on my DVD player, and any Xvid file smaller than 720x480 played on my dvd player will give me black bars around the edges, it doesnt resize it to fit the screen. So, is this possible to achieve?

You may want to try activating the "overscan" in your player's preferences.
