View Full Version : Framecount not accurate?

Hi,

I've tried with several sources, to essentially backup an HD DVD to .mkv. My problem is that the framecount option doesn't seem to work in my .avs. I am entering the value obtained from Evodemux, but the movies are cut short every time. My graph is as follows:

File -> Sonic HD Demuxer -> Sonic Cinevision 4.2

my .avs is below :

Directshowsource("file.grf",fps=23.976,audio=false,seekzero=false,seek=true,framecount=197503)
ConvertToYV12 ()

The framecount should be right, however when encoding, the movie just cuts off. Also, if i use the slider to view the movie, it's as if it's "looping" back to an earlier part of the film, never reaching the ending.

Furthermore, if i do not define a framecount, i can load the .avs in Vdub and scroll to the end of the film and obtain the number of frames there......it shows me over 7 million frames, which makes the movie around 42 hours or something....i'm totally lost.

This has happened 3 times, and i'm having a hard time believing it's the apps fault, it's something i'm doing wrong, and if you can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Directshowsource is not frame accurate, and has been known to do really weird stuff.

Any idea what my options are at this point then?

Pretty much everything i've read uses the Directshowsource function...

There are solutions in another forum section, the "Alternative a/v containers" one. Look inside the evo demuxers thread.
