back bars on the left and on the right?

hi!
i'm a newbie to dvd2svcd. i did not change the standard settings, but i'm getting small black bars on the left and on the right.

does anybody know how to get rid of them?

Are you watching your SVCD in media player? cos i get the bars then too, or are you using a standalone to watch?

i used powerdvd 3.0 to watch the mpeg file created with dvd2svcd. i did not burn the image yet. does that make a difference?

yes, this makes a lot of difference. These "vertical black bars" happens when playing with WinDVD also. Playing with standalone, they aren't there.

let me sum it up: the black bars (very, very small!) are usual when watching a dvd or svcd with a software dvd player and they will not appear when using a stand alone player? right?
