View Full Version : How to workaround drop frame issues

I am getting frame drops when encoding DVDs using CCE (DVD 9 -> DVD 5). I would be interested in knowing if there is a work around via which can rebuild the segments in which there were reported frame drops (tweaking in rebuilder.ini or any other file via which can flag tht particular segment needs to be rebuilt). I would like to avoid encoding again as it took me 3 days with 3 pass to complete the encoding process (3 days because am using filters).

When you get it that many times and with that many frames it is very likely a system stability issue. It looks like CCE is crashing during the second (or final) pass... and you are left with an MPEG stream that is way short (as much as 7000 frames on one segment). Are you overclocked? If so,, try backing it down a little. It's also possible that your filters may be the problem -- but that's pretty tough to debug long distance.

I'd suggest you open REBUILDER.ECL with CCE. It will have a list of all the segments. Remove all but the segments that failed, then try to reencode them (just the 5 that failed) again. Don't save the ECL (project) when asked. Then you can do the REBUILD to complete the job.

^ Thanxs jdobb for the input. Is there a way I can rebuilt those segements again via DVD RB?

I have not overclocked CPU, RAM or GPU. I am running them in there default factory state.

Yes, look at my edited response. You may want to watch it and see if it crashes midstream during the final pass.
