View Full Version : Possible issues with DVD2SVCD 1.05.4

On my first conversion with DVD2SVCD 1.05 build 4 it created bin files of 809mb and 802mb with a setting of 800mb. With previous builds the largest file created would have been 806mb.
The video file created is actually normal size, because normally when I ask for 2 cd's it would create 1 file at 806mb and one at 805mb just about every time.

I then attempted to use crash recovery from muxing and cutting and dropped the cd size from 800mb to 797mb.
When I pressed continue I got DVD ripping errors(DVD ripping cannot be the same directory as the IFO folder). To use crash recovery I had to shut off DVD ripping. I got a second error after doing that (DVD ripping not activated do you wish to activate it now). I said no and it continued.

However nothing changed after it finished. BBmpeg still used a cutpoint of 799mb, even though I placed 797 in CD size in the bitrate tab.
The final file sizes did not change either. 809mb and 802mb.

I have not used crash recovery before on any 1.04 build.
I have had no file size issues with any previous verion, but I never used 1.04 build 3.

I am going to drop the cd size more and try it again, but it seems that the cd size is not being passed on if you use crash recovery and the file size has increased by default.

I am using VCDXbuild with 90 second fixed chapters as always.

If you wanna change the CD size when doing a Crash Recovery you have to edit the .d2s file.

what is your cd overlap setting? try 0

Ok I will try that.
Like I said I have never needed to change the file size before, because it never made a bin larger then 806mb.

I have used crash recovery before and never had the DVD ripping errors.

My overlap is at 5 seconds, but I have always use an overlap of 5 seconds on every version that supported it.

Thanks again,
Mark

DVD2SVCD thanks simple enough and it worked fine.

What is your intended final bin file size?

CDRWIN reported the 809mb bin file longer then 80 minutes.
I needed to drop it to 806mb to get it below 80 minutes.

Thanks,
Mark
