Hi everyone, I have windows Vista Ultimate installed and downloaded last Megui version (found in http://megui.org/auto/). When I start it, have no apps installed (avisynt, plugin, xvid, x264, ecc..), it asks me to update: I say OK and when it finds what i need I click UPDATE. Well, when it finishes to donwload the first component it crashes. I can't understand why. I try many version of Megui.exe, bat all the time it crashes at the same point.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks.

MeGUI just generally fails on vista. You will have to boot into your previous windows version or try another frontend.

Thank you very much, check. So, if i want to use it on Vista I have to wait "next" version, right?
tnx.

no, in other threads people are reporting that megui works on vista fine. You can try a complete format or similar, but also try reinstalling megui.

MeGUI update failed on my vista too. But when it failed, a window popup asking me whether I want to run the program as Administrator, I say yes, and the update ran smoothly.

There is no need to re-format vista. :-)

I think this may have something to do with the incorrect libs distributed on check's server. They are an old version -- the new version contains a fix from moadib2k. Wait a day or two and you should have access to the new libs via autoupdate. See if they work.

Alternatively, there may be a permissions problem: MeGUI trying to write to a folder it isn't allowed to. Instead of installing MeGUI, try extracting it to a folder, not in program files, but on another drive. That may also work.
