hi, i'd like to create a cd wich is readable by my home dvd player from an avi using tmpeg. is it possible ? i tried a lot of configurations in tmpeg but it always had problems when i read it with my player (i was not able to see parts of the image only big green and red squares)

Follow Doom9's vcd guide, except use your .avi as the source in TMPGEnc instead of ripped DVD video.

Umm... a no brainer method is to drop the avi into a NERO VCD COMPILATION. Make sure its in the bottom window. This will "ENCODE" your avi for you. I don't think Nero guarantees any quality or what ever... but thats probably for a rainy day. If you just wanted to play with it... this is simple ^_^

a big thank you for those who answer me, but i finally found yesterday. i loaded the svcd (pal) settings and i encode it with nero using the svcd method without reencoding it.

yea, just like to mention that nero doesn't resize or crops, so most .avi files will come out stretched
