I've been trying to make an HDDVD that is compatible with PowerDVD. I encoded a short 30 second 23.98fps clip in CineVision AVS at 29.97 fps. The resulting file (when renamed to a .mpv from .b264) plays properly when dropped direclty on PowerDVD.

I then dropped that file onto scenarist's track view and added the resulting track to Title_1 in the Scenario editor. Then I created a disc image. I created no menus.

If I load the resulting disc image into daemon tools the player thinks for a moment, switches to "file mode", and proceeds to play the video back at an uncontrolled framerate (way too fast.)

There are no errors given by scenarist.

Anyone know whats going on here?

Thanks.

1) You must finalise your project in cinevision to obtain complete .264 files.

2) Cinevision use by defaut timestamp flag for AVC stream and produce freeze with powerdvd.

3) AVC stream from Elecard/Mainconcept AVC SDK encoder (Cinevision, Elecard Studio Converter, Mainconcept H264 encoder) produce video stream with bad duration in scenarist SCA (bug for scenarist ...???) and large desynchro with audio.
