Protect the customers - TAX the DRM protected content !

People complain a lot about DRM , I think the best way to avoid it is to get "regulator" (the state) to intervene.

"Nice" about 30% tax on DRM protected content would shift the distributors perspective.
So call you representatives, senators etc and suggest it.

I agree with this but I also don't; it could be seen as government intervention upon the DRM by Default Blu-Ray and that could cause a whole mess

Plus the fact that the politicians are getting under and over the table kick backs I would assume...

There's only one realistic way to stop DRM: Don't buy it.

Yes and No - that would be true about 3 years ago when all the publishers was absolutely sure in "must have DRM" .

Today some of them not so sure and some of them even dropped to use it.

Enforcing such tax would indeed increase prices BUT only for DRM protected content and since now we have an option the DRM protected sales would drop resulting in less publishers using DRM.
