Hi all,
I am trying to play home made hd movies on my hd tv.
I have a hd camera that I've used to author a hd iso file and copy over to a standard dvd.
When I use a hd softward player as windvd, it sees the standard disk as a hd disk.
My laptop will then play this authored disk out through the s video port.
My question is this...
The quality looks better than the standard definition with the standard mpegs.
Am I really getting to watch hd content on my hd tv doing this process?
I didn't think I could playback hd (1080i) files via the s video port?
I am thinking of purchase of a new video card. The new cards have a S video to RGB component adaptor.
My tv will play back a hd movie via it's RGB inputs.
Will this provide further benefit?

Any assistance in this area to save me having to pay for a hd dvd burner and a hd dvd player is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
