Happy New Year! Well, in my time zone, anyway :D .

For my first act of the new year, I tried DVD Decryptor. It wasn't a plan or a resolution or anything like that. It's just kismet.

I must say I am impressed with the speed. With SR, I start at 1.8x and usually finish at about 4.8x (I assume the drive gets faster as reading moves outward from the hub). With DVD Decryptor, it starts at 2.6x and finishes at 5.7-5.9x.

At first, I thought it was reading above the rated speed of the drive, but I rechecked my PC docs, and the drive is rated at 6x. Still, DVD Decryptor got within spitting distance of the rated max - quite impressive. A rip that would normally take 18-20 minutes in SR was done in less than 13 minutes.

I do have some questions, but I'll put them in a separate thread.
