when i create an xvid movie the filesize is way too low, i select 350mb (1/2cd) and it creates a 70mb .avi. when i use xvid 1.03 it works perfectly. how can i fix this?
im using gordian knot 0.35.0 btw.

This is a very commonly reported problem. Installing XviD on top of an existing XviD installation can result in bitrate control problems.
COMPLETELY Deinstall XviD, then reinstall it.

This is not an answer, but I noticed that this problem coincides with seeing, making in VirtualDub Videl___Compression, you see TWO possibilities of using the XviD compression: one corresponding to the well known driver xvid.dll and one corresponding to xvidvfw.dll, which is associated (I read) to the YV12 compression.
I don't know how I managed to remove the xvidvfw.dll from the Video__Compression (I uninstalled and re-installed the Xvid codec some times, until it happened), but when I removed it also the 'wrong size' problem stopped to appear.
If you install a registered version of DivX 6.X and use it, no problem though. To have a very good quality, I used it using the 'insane quality preset' (9 on 10 maximum).
If you don't want to buy DivX 6.X (which many people thinks to be superior than XviD) you can try to make that damn xvidvfw.dll disappear...

Since you've obviously tried a different version of Xvid at this point, uninstall it, find and delete the xvid.ax and xvid.dll files, then reinstall Xvid. From there, select the Options tab in Gordian Knot, click the Xvid 1st pass button and set Profile @ Level to "unrestricted." Repeat for 2nd pass button and try again.

it works choosing "unrestricted", i had it on "Simple @ L0" before, whats the difference between those 2 options??

The presets limit certain factors in the encode; unrestricted gives Gordian Knot more control.

so there will be no reduced video quality or anything then?

I have been having the same problem, but I have not been able to keep it set to 'unrestricted' and will only work in Simple @ L0 mode ?
I have reinstalled XviD and AGK many times in the last few days, I have just thought as I type this that the only thing I have changed the last few times is that the Xvidcore.dll has been the xvidcore.amd64.7z version from CelticDruid's site.
I will do a clean install without that.
