heya,

I've tried a few searches but can't seem to find any answers to this question.

I have some movies that I wish to convert.

Tho movie has subtitles in idx/sub format as usual, but numbers 0,2, 3, 4 are unneeded asian subtitles, #1 is in English.

What I want to do before converting it again, is to remove the unneeded sub streams, leaving me with a new idx/sub file that has only the english stream, and now reset as stream #0 instead of #1

is there anyway to do this? I know obviously a way around it is to convert it to srt but this is time consuming ocr (ok a few minutes), but also introduces a fair few errors with spacing and such, so keeping the actual english subs untouched is much more practical. Reason being my conversion apps dont like converting to dvd when more than 1 substream is involved

thanks,
Tuck

Presumably these are DVDs. Therefore, you should be able to accomplish what you want relatively easily by using DVD Shrink (set to "No Compression") - and simply DE-selecting the unwanted subtitle streams and re-order the English subtitle stream.

However, Subtitle/Subpic streams are so small, I wonder why you'd bother to eliminate them?

You can do it very easily with SubtitleCreator. Tools -> Manipulate Sup ...

hiya,

no its currently an xvid avi, and idx/sub combination, that I wish to convert back to dvd format. I've tried a few different apps but can see nothing that would allow it (anyone any idea what Unlink and Render actually do in subresync as they seem to make no difference no matter what I tick in them ever anyways when faffing about in it)

manusse.....I'll have a look at that a little later when I get back from work thanks.....is that for the situation I need, or is that for like in setarip_old's thinking that I'm converting from dvd?

I'll find out laters tho so here's hoping :)
