Does anyone know how I can cut a DivX movie onto a Video CD to play in my DVD player?

DivX are a hack of the M$ Mpeg4 codec. You need to re-encode to mpeg1 for vcd, try using tmpgenc. I have had problems with this in the past, you may want to look at the dl portion of doom9 and see if any of the encoders can open it, and re-encode. just make sure you have the right codecs insatlled on your system. ie, you can watch it on your puter.

When i encode divx movies to vcd. i always have to decode the sound (make it as a wav), then i just use tmpgenc to encode it.

Just a quick question: anyone knows how to avoid PTS/DTS underflows when encoding from DivX to VCD?

I've sorted it now. TMPGEnc doesnt like DivX movies so I used VirtualDub to uncompress the movie to AVI and then used TMPGEnc to encode to MPEG1.
