Stereo AC-3 to 6ch AC-3??

Hello.

Until now, i have first Save the Audio as Wav with Virtualdub-mod and than according to a Guide from this forum,convert the Wav to 6ch ac-3.

My Question is, is this way the best or i lose ac-3 information by converting first to wav??

If so , what way should a go??

PS: belight ac-3 2ch to ac-3 6ch seems not to work.

You lose info when re-encode to ac3 5.1 (uncompressed -> compressed) never when decode the ac3 2.0 to wav (compressed -> uncompressed)
If so , what way should a go??
If you don't want lose info preserve the original audio.
If you have a surround audio equipment maybe you have one or more DSP functions to convert to surround when play.
PS: belight ac-3 2ch to ac-3 6ch seems not to work.
Of course, isn't possible without decode, invent 4 new channels and re-encode.
