View Full Version : Anyway to make the .aspect global?

yea I am lazy, hence why I use autogk. It's great, but it hardly ever chooses the right aspect ratio. About 7 out of 10 encodes come up with some really lame resolution (usually 720 x 390 or something equally silly) and I have to go back and reencode forcing the aspect ratio... Is there anyway to make the .aspect global so I can set it to use the original and forget it?

Ok, now I am upset... tho mostly at myself for not checking before.... I get to reencode some 400 movies because of the AR error... why design it like this?

Hi,
Is your question: how to have the hidden parameters .aspect set to "override input Ar AND original " used for each encode (global/permanent)? I never needed it permanent so I have no clue; have you tried to copy the resulting file .aspect in the AGK program directory?
Or is your question I want the movie as original so for PAL :720/576 or NTSC: 720/480 ? if so use the no-crop procedure reminded in this recent thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=124241

yes it's how to make it permanent so it doesn't alter the original AR anymore. All my movies are NTSC yet autogk seriously crops the movies. I will try that adding the .aspect to the autogk dir

Now that I read it to myself it's not really the Ar it's the fact that it is cropping 80% of my movies, actually losing the information....
EDIT: 80% of my movies not 80% of each movie :)
