WMV HD on the PS3

Has anyone had any success playing back or converting WMV HD video content to playback on a PS3?

I've tried...using this example:

First I tried just converting it with PS3 Video 9 which failed. Following that I managed to get VLC to transcode it to MP4/AVC (though sadly without audio because VLC doesn't seem to like the 5.1 WMA audio included) which I had to transcode again to a PS3 friendly AVC format.

Obviously having to re-encode twice is not an acceptable option.

I don't know others opinion,
But my personal opinion is better to re encode into AVC format that playable in PS3. You can use like Xilisoft Video Converter or other software. Because PS3 very specified, or maybe you better wait for new firmware upgrade, perhaps they will include WMVHD format.

i just converted it using megui without any problems :)

both audio and video, just use a ps3 compatible profile and then downmix the audio to 2 channel aac mp4 and away you go.
