Pause Encoding so shutdown is possible?

is it somehow possible, to pause the encoding in x264? Doesn't matter which gui or mod. It would really help lots of people that like to encode movies in HQ settings...

You can shutdown your computer to "Hibernation" while encoding and continue encoding at some later time...

Edit: Oh, didn't know what Hibernation means...

Since Hibernation is a useless POS IMO (sry for the word choice), it's not really useful. :/
