Ripping Sony Classical / A-Film title Zwartboek (Black Book) results in a missing chapter, propably due to new copy protection schema.
I copied the DVD to my hard drive using DVDFab Decryter (DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper resulted in disc read errors).
When I try to play back the DVD from the files on my hard drive I get the usual intro's and stuff and at the end the main menu. When I select "Film" to start playback of the main movie, it starts playing at the beginning of chapter 2 and the time counter starts at 0:00. When I use the chapter selection menu and select the first chapter, playback also starts at chapter 2.
Using other software DVD players doesn't change the result or the behaviour of the rippen DVD.
Any thoughts on how to solve this?

Hi vtpeters,

Please send us all the .IFO files on Original disc, then we will check the problem.

A recommended way is listed below:
1) Open an Explorer window, and navigate to VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
2) Copy all files ending with .IFO to hard disk.
3) ZIP the IFO files on hard disk to one file. Name it with a readable filename, like Stealth_UK.zip.
4) Send the zip file to fengtao(at)dvdidle.com, you need replace (at) with @.

How to zip the IFO files:

... it was a rented DVD-Video. Unless I rent the disc again I cannot provide the material you requested. Sorry.
See I was planning on buying the Special Edition when it will come available later this mounth, so maybe then I will be able to mail/send the original IFO's.

I still have the copied IFO's, maybe these will help you a bit?

Please let me know where I can send these or the originals to?

In case you're wondering ...
According to Dutch copyright law it's perfectly legal to make a copy of a DVD-Video for personal use. To counteract possible loss of income to movie companies and alike, a copyright fee (fine?) is taxed to each purchased blank CD-R(W) or DVD+/-R(W). So, in fact, with each blank disc we actually pay for the right to make a copy of copyrighted audio or video material for personal use, either owned or rented ;-)

Judging from other posts on this forum concerning disappearing websites hosting the program I'm not the only one having some trouble finding it ...

@vtpeters

Please read rule 6. Irrespective of the laws in Holland, you need to comply with the rules of this forum.

We can't help you with DVDs you do not own.

Sorry.
