Is this possible yet?
I want to put in my HD DVDs, copy them with menus etc etc to a folder on my media server, and then store the disc, and play this location on PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 or other.
Can I do this yet or am I still waiting?

Yes, it is possible, assuming that you can use PowerDVD 7.3 to play these disks from the drive in the first place (ie your HDCP chain is functional, etc).
Use DumpHD to decrypt the disks. Use aacskeys.exe to recover the VUKs if you have some titles that are not in the keydb. Once the disk is decrypted and stored in the folder on the hard drive, you might have to manually decompress the .aca files that contain menus, and manually edit the XML files from any references to AACS. Doing so might be a good idea any way, since at the same time you can edit the playlists, and set the audio language, subtitles if any (or set the default subtitles to non-existing stream to convince PowerDVD to stop forcing them on), and get rid of the overbearing "This is HD-DVD" promotion pieces (if applicable, of course).
PowerDVD will happily play from folder, WinDVD will not. Your third playback option seems to be latest Nero with the HD plugin, but I've not tried that.
Regarding media server, you might have to map the windows share (am I correct in assuming that you are dealing with Windows shares, and not something more exotic, like NFS?) as a drive to keep PowerDVD happy.
Hope this helps.

Based on the above I tried to back-up two of my Bluray discs: Terminator and T2. When I choose play from folder in PowerDVD and highlight the folder for Terminator, I can click OK and play the disc. However, the OK option is not selectable when I highlight the T2 folder. Did I miss a file somewhere?

easiest way is to use anyDVD HD w/ the xbox360 HD-DVD connected to your PC. using anyDVD HD, you don't have to mess w/ any keys. you simply open up the HD-DVD in explorer, drag and drop the files over to your HDD and it's done. it will decrypt on the fly and all menus + extras are intact.

But still requires an HDCP chain right, otherwise it will downscale the image?

no, anyDVD HD rips out all protection, including HDCP.

I use DumpHD/PDVD 7.3 an I have a no-HDCP card, and I got no downsizing. Everything plays @ 1920x1080

You can't create an ISO of an HD-DVD or BRD yet.

Quite simple:
For BLURAY PowerDVD searched for: dir\BDMV
For HDDVD PowerDVD searched for: dir\HVDVD_TS
Can't be more easy.

Of course you can. Use Imgburn http://www.imgburn.com (and don't forget to make a donation), select Build, select UDF-only option, select HDD as destination, wait, load with Daemon Tools.

I know this is a little off-topic, but I found this info over on the Slysoft forum and it is a pretty sweet deal to pass along.
Just incase anyone was thinking of getting into the HD scene, now may be the time. Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player is on sale right now on Newegg.com for $187.99 with FREE 3-Day Shipping.

But I thought that PDVD7.3 or WinDVD automatically downres anyways unless there is an HDCP chain. Thats the way it has been epxlained to me a couple times...

awesome tip, thanks. for some reason my current version of powerdvd wont play from hard drive. My previous installation did but not anymore. Well this will be the alternative and i think i like it better since it results in archiving a single file versus a folder with a bunch of files and folders. Doing this doesnt sacrifice any quality does it?

As I understood it in various forums, PowerDVD's latest version doesn't play HD/BD files from the HD any more.
I tried it, have a perfectly fine HDDVD.ts dir but it won't play. Gonna try the img/deanmon route and will report here. Oh, BTW, IMGBURN corrects the UDF only option to to UDF 2.xx

I tried to play the mounted image above but PowerDVD gave me an "unknown internal error".
However, there are two circumstances that might have add to that error.
The image was on another pc in the network, but I mounted it with Deamon Tools on the pc from which I played PowerDVD. I really don't know if that would be a problem.
The image I made consisted only of the hddvd_ts dir. I don't know if that would be a problem either, or should the image also contain the "Adv_obj" dir?
Any ideas here?

I redid the whole iso making, this time including both directories; the "hddvd.ts" and the "Adv_obj" and now it works fine, so there's the answer.
