I've been trying to back up my copy of Apocalypse Now which has DD 5.1 and when played on WINDVD gives me Left, Center, Right, RL,LR and Sub.

I'm to understand that when we use DVD2SVCD the audio section moves this stuff from AC3 to Dolby Surround? I'm loosing my center channel when this happens.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? or is my stuff set up incorrectly?

Am I supposed to maintain center channel with my SVCD's?

If you turn your audio processor to 2-channel it should play through all your speakers, including your sub and center channel.

The closet thing you will get to 5.1 sound SVCD's on your PC is to use PowerDVDXP (aka Powerdvd 4.0). It has a dolby pro-logic II decoding function that will take a 2 speaker source and try to play it back in 5.1 sound. On my system it works quite well with many movies. The music comes from all the speakers but the voices usually only come from the center channel. It's worth a shot!:D
