The title says it all. Here's my deal.

I am running DVDRM Pro 3.5.3 (bought & paid for, of course). I can open the movie just fine. I edit/remove the useless junk. I go to export it and at about the 10-20% point I get the dreaded BSOD. So I try a different movie - same thing. So I try extracting the image first (before opening in DVDRM) - same thing. I tried switching compatibility to XP Sp2 - same problem. I tried to Run program as Administrator option in Vista - same problem. I've redownloaded the program from Dimad's site - same problem. I even tried turning off the screensaver - same problem!

The BSOD error is a STOP error 0x0000007F. Note that my PC doesn't crash at any other time throughout the day - only when using this program. This program worked perfectly for me in XP. The log is useless, as it doesn't record any errors on a crash as sudden as a BSOD. And probably the most bothersome thing is no one else seems to have reported a problem similar to mine. :(

Any suggestions??

Don't have much experience with Vista. Are you using some kind of skining software (like windowblinds)? On previous versions of windows this was the reason for reported DvdReMake crash: http://cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6967&highlight=windowblinds

Also this one: So I try extracting the image first (before opening in DVDRM) - same thing. Some users reported problems acessing DVD files via deamon tools (for mounted images). Try extracting files to HD first.

No skinning software is installed. I did try using extracted images and it still didn't work. Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully we'll figure this thing out. :)

Okay, we trust you don't use pirated DVDRemake Pro but you didn't mention your Windows Vista was bought or *****:)

DVDRemake Pro 3.5.3 works perfectly for me on Vista Ultimate Edition x86 (I haven't tried it on x64), Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.

Thanks for confirming that it works in Vista. I have a feeling that it may be my set up, because it crashed yesterday out of nowhere while working on something in Photoshop. Sorry I'm sorry in advance for blaming DVDRM if that is not in fact the problem. I'll let you know if I can narrow it down.

Thanks guys.

Update: The culprit ended up being a piece of software called "Hide Files and Folders". It reportedly ran on Vista, but since uninstalling it, I've had no problems with DVD-RM. So thanks to all who participated in this thread. I appreciate the help!
