Hi guys,
A year later, another problem :(
Used to use PGCEdit fine, not an advanced user but could get edit my DVD's in the way I liked.
Recently built a new PC - dual core Athalon 5200+ using an ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard which has onboard graphics using the nVidia 6150 chipset (will upgrade to a "proper" card when I save some more cash :D)
Installed PGCEdit fine but when in Trace mode, when it comes to a bit of video to preview, the process PgcEditPreview.exe is launched (I can see it in Task Manager) but my system freezes?
Anyone come across this before? I am using v8.0.
Cheers
Matt

Do you use Vista?
Have you tried to enable the "Preview -> Disable DirectDraw Overlays" option?
Which version of PgcEdit are you using?

Hi mate, thanks for answering
I am using PCGEdit v8.0 on Windows XP 32 bit version. Haven't upgraded to Vista yet and wasn't planning to until SP1 is released :)
Not tried the Disable DirectDraw option will do tonight when I am at home.
Interestingly, if I launch PgcEditPreview.exe on it's own and drag and drop a VOB, it works fine....

Hmmm.....
Some more experimenting.....
Ever heard an of a conflict between PGCEdit and PowerDVD? I am using the latest of both v8.0 and v7.3 respectively.
If I format PC and only install drivers and PGCEdit, all works fine. Install PowerDVD 7.3 and bang, the problem with PGCEdit is there???

PowerDVD 6.0 works fine......

Sorry for all these posts :o
Don't know if posting to other sites is allowed here but searching through the Cyberlink (makers of PowerDVD) site, seems version 7 causes probs with nVidia chipsets.
So, looks like no probs with PGCEdit (as if there ever could be :D) but more like a PowerDVD prob.
Hope this helps anyone else who gets this prob :)

Thanks for your experiments. It's good to know. Indeed, I have never tried PowerDVD 7 with PgcEDit and my nVidia.
It's strange, however, that the preview works fine when used independently of PgcEdit. The way it displays the video should be identical.
Have you tried to disable the overlays?

Sorry mate, don't seem to get the email notifications when a new post is made
Anyway, yes, tried without overlays but still hangs. Since last post I have now installed rest of my usual suite of software and bug is back so maybe another conflict somewhere. More testing required....
