I have been using DVD Shrink with Nero 6.6.0.18 and been very pleased doing my backups.
Then yesterday while attempting to backup a purchased copy of a music concert I had a problem right at the start.
I inserted the source disc into my burner and after I entered the drive in the drop down menu, as I was using my external drive as I always do, I drop down instead of showing the title of the concert read E:Local Volume Identifier and DVD Shrink would do nothing.
I should say that I use the purchased version of Any Dvd as well.
I talked to our office tech and he said I should post as he is into our work programs and not dvd software issues. He thought possibly there is an option in Shrink that I may have needed to check off for this particular backup????
I hope that an experienced member can suggest how to deal with this issue, thankyou for your time.
BTW, I tried googling the error and could not find solutions that related to DVD Shrink specifically as the program arose in my situation, the discussions were around Imgburn which I Do not use, I have always found this version of Nero very stable and not problematic.
Again thx.

Hi!

Sounds like a hardware, not DVD Shrink problem.

1) Can Windows access the drive?

2) Did you try simply rebooting?

3) Does it now display the same error with other DVDs that it previously processed properly?

4) Did you try reading this problematic DVD with another of your burners and/or DVD-ROMs?

5) Did you try it without AnyDVD running?

6) What is the Title and Region of the DVD?

Yes, when I open up My Computer the title of the DVD is there along side my External burner. I tried it with my internal burner and get the same error.

I took it to my bro and he tried it on his Sony burner (external) with Shrink and Any Dvd and same error and then he disabled Any DVD and used Dvd Decrypter and same problem.

My neighbour tried it with his Any Dvd and 1 Click Dvd and was successful with his back up.

It was suggested that I try DVD Fab Decrypter 3.0.9.6 and Disable Any Dvd which I did and the same error:
E: Logical Volume Identifier.
And it shows 9 beside DVD at the bottom so I believe I would have to shrink it for a 4.75 disk.

It has been tried on my BenQ 162I, my LG and my brother's Sony.
My neighbour who did the successful backup with 1 Click DVD Copy and Any DVD has a BenQ 1621 and all of our firmware is uptodate.

But why Shrink and DVD Fab Decrypter won't do the job we can't understand, however the 1 Click dvd copy can.
The neighbour said he read somewhere that some dvd's have something in the "Boot Sector" that can cause back up problems, has anyone heard of that???
BTW this is a Rita Coolidge Concert 2004 dvd that I keep in my library and use the dvd's in my Binder to play and watch.

I hope that someone can help, thankyou for your time.

I can find no information for a DVD with the title "Rita Coolidge Concert 2004".

What is the exact title?

The actual title is "Walela Live In Concert".Rich-Heape Films, Inc.
It is Region 1. 2004 is the year.
