View Full Version : Having a difficult time demuxing with PGCdemux

Hello.

I've been working on getting Office Space's -- a movie I bought two times (one letter the other screen fit)-- video demuxed by using PGCdemux, but I'm coming across a very odd and disturbing error.

It's seperating the video just fine until it reaches the end, and then suddenly it cuts off nearly 10-15 minutes off the end of the movie. Has anyone else encountered such an odd experience, and if so, what did you do to correct the situation?

I'm not hellbent on using PGCdemux so if someone has a better demuxer I'd love to know.

:thanks:

Hi-

No, I haven't seen that before.

You checked the vobs and the whole movie is there? That is, there wasn't any problem decrypting it to the hard drive? What I have seen is a movie being divided over 2 PGCs. So, if you didn't get the whole movie in the PGC you chose, then check the dropdown box in PGCDemux to make sure there isn't another PGC that might contain the rest of the movie. It's just an idea. I haven't worked with that movie and have no idea if what I'm speculating is really happening with it.

multiple times. I spent 6 hours last night going over the process step by step.

Ironically, someone with your name at another forum was trying to help someone with what looks like a close problem of mine:

This one also seems close to mine as well, although the length of my movie in the PGCSelection area seems to be correct:

This is really, really frustrating.

I'll also add that when I decrypt the movie off of the DVD I start out with 6 VOB files, but after the process of demuxing, I'm left with 5 1/2 files. At the very end of the fifth file it seems to speed up like it's got an error, yet it doesn't report any errors.

Hi-

There are other ways to demux. You can load all the Vobs into DGIndex and go File->Save Project And Demux Video. You won't get subs that way, though. You should already have them from using PGCDemux.

@MetateM

Hi!

Is it possible that you're trying to save a single file greater that 4Gb in size to a FAT32-format hard drive?

lmao

You know what, that might be the answer. Wow. I feel like a complete idiot.

Thank you. Besides going to the long job of switching formats, is there another work around?

Man, I think that's it. Each file keeps getting stuck at about 4 gigs and after using dvd shrink it didn't have any issues.

*smacks forehead*

EDIT: I found 60 gigs of NTFS, so nvm with that last question.

If this works, thank you so very much for helping me solve 24 hours of my stupid hell.

Yes, that fixed it.Once again, it's that good ol' "hide in plain sight" - the most obvious (and simplest) things are often overlooked ;>}
