searched but couldnt find any info on this.

i am trying to play back raw VC-1 video. by default my system uses wmvideo decoder dmo. this works fine if the video is anything but raw. it works fine for vc-1 in matroska, avi, EVO etc but not raw.

raw vc-1 is garbage with that decoder. sonics video decoder decodes it fine though.

i cant mux the raw video into anything as haalis muxer wont accept it and neither does mkvmerge. is there any way to get this video to be decoded properly by wmvideo?

tried the latest haali muxer but no joy. the splitter still doesnt recognise vc-1 files. gdsmux also wont handle vc-1

When you say "raw VC-1 video", are you talking about correctly formatted Elementary Streams or literally raw samples dumped to disk? The former (.vc1) will require a proper VC-1 ES DShow source filter before you can decode it with WMVideo decoder. There were some attempts on this forum to write one such filter - search a bit.
The latter is very uncommon - it's gonna be very difficult to find something that'll read just raw samples.
