Okay. My WMM is being a royal pain in the butt and I tried posting this at their forum but no one answered me, so I'm hoping for help here.

My WMM is closing every time I try to add a clip. The clips are avi, range from 10-20 seconds. My movie so far isn't even 2 minutes long yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried splitting the clips, rebooting, closing down WMM, nothing works. Any and all help appreciated.

Do you have ffdshow installed? I had trouble with this and WMM.
I had to go into the Tools menu of WMM and then into options and uncheck ffdshow in the Compatibility tab.

Other than that, I wouldn't know. I haven't used WMM for ages so my memory is very rusty.

When I go to tools and options, I don't have a tab that says compatibility. just general and advanced. Any idea why this would be?

What kind of AVI files? e.g., DV, Divx etc

I believe I use Xvid most of the time. Should I try doing it with DivX?

No idea. I have General, Advanced and Compatibility tabs. There may be more than one version of WMM out there. A version was shipped with my machine and I've never updated it or downloaded a new version or anything.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
