Hi. I noticed this strange issue. Please know that my PC has the last XviD (XviD 1.1.2, November 2006) installed
(please note having the last XviD version or the one included in AuitoGK install package makes no difference).
I observed, choosing in VirtualDub Video__Compression, that existed, on my PC, TWO compressions Named Xvid.
One of the two XviD compressions is the usual one, that is the one with:
FourCC code: 'xvid'
and the other one which has:
FourCC code: 'yv12'
Please note that feature is new. Installing a Koepi XviD 24062003 installs only one one 'XviD compression'.
I don't know when it is more suited to use the yv12 compresson; I only think that AutoGK cannot use it.
That is, if one asks AutoGK to prepare an AVI using the XviD codec and one has the two 'XviD compresions' , this happens:
0) AutoGK (maybe randomly?) chooses one of the two compressions, either the FourCC = 'xvid' one, either the FourCC = 'yv12' one.
1) if AutoGK has chosen the XviD compression which has the FourCC code: 'xvid' , averything goes fine;
2) if AutoGK has chosen the XviD compression which has the FourCC code: 'yv12' things do bad. For instance, I noticed which the AVI can have a final size different than the chosen one (i.e. > 700 MB or > 1400 MB, causing AGK creating three AVI: movie.cd1.avi, movie.cd2.avi and a very small [few megabytes] file named movie.cd3.avi.
I think this because once I made, using AGK, an un-sync AVI and I noticed that it had FouCC='yv12'.
I don't know why, but: I uninstalled and re-installed XviD [switching off and on again the PC] many times , until (and I don't know why it happened) VirtualDub showed only one XviD compession available.
From that time, AutoGK made perfect XviDs.
Any comment about this? Am I completaly wrong or I am seeing the truth?
