I have trouble burn cue/bin files. Both fireburner and cdrwin have failed on my samsung cd burner. Is there a way to convert the disc image to cif? I have never have problem burning cif using easy cd creator.

I have a Samsung 212B burner and have not had any problems using it with fireburner. Just curious, what kind of problems are you having with it?

The process of burning seemed to finish successfully. But the output disc can not be played by standalone player and computer. I have tried 2 brands of CDR and a CDRW. I only succeed once burning on a CDRW.

By the way, Nero 5.5.4 would complain my CDR is too small for the image DVD2SVCD created althought it is a 80 minutes CDR. Now I miss I-Author. The cif file it creates never gives me problems.

Try new version of Nero, 5.5.6.4 is the first without problems for me.
If you want to use IAuthor, you have to modify the DVD2SVCD.ini. There is a line called ForceIAuthorSupport=0, change it to ForceIAuthorSupport=1 and you can use IAuthor like in former versions.

I had a similar experience with Blindwrite, disc created successfully but DVD player would not read it. Not sure why.

I had been using an older version of Fireburner for burning the cue/bin files and it worked, but the sometimes the CDs could not be properly read in a CDROM drive. I recently upgraded to Fireburner Version 2.1.2 and now use the same settings for burning as DVD2SVCD uses and everything works great.

I can't really tell by your posts so I'll ask. Are you certain your standalone supports SVCD?

What speed are you burning at? You might try burning at 4X to see if that corrects the problem.
