Hi there. Hope some of you can help me.

Here's the problem, simple enough but I seem to be unable to find a proper tool to achieve the goal.

I have some DVD's with tv series. 5 episodes on one DVD. To conserve quality, I want to backup 3 episodes on a DVD.

DVD Shrink does this task very well and I get a DVD with one VIDEO_TS and one IFO for every episode. The problem however, is that I can't play them on my standalone DVD player on the tv. They play perfectly on PC using PowerDVD, but not on the DVD player. I guess because there is no menu.

Now, I want to add a very simple menu enabling me to select an episode and play it. I have tried several tools, DVD Lab Pro2, PGCEdit,... and a few others, but they all seem quite complicated.

All I want is a tool to select a few IFO's (being the seperate episodes), have the tool add a very simple menu and write it to my harddisk so I can burn it later using CDBurner XP Pro. I don't need any other functions, only selecting a few IFO's and adding a menu.

Anyone who can help me??? Thank you very much!!!

Sounds like you'd enjoy using "TMPGEnc DVD Author" v.1.6 (Not 2.0 or 3.0). You can obtain a FULLY functional free 30 day trial version of this commercial program at:

Take a look at DVDPlannerBASIC in "Wizard" mode.

Your DVD Player should have a basic function to select titles which enables you to play the DVD although it does not have a menu.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like v1.6 is available any longer.

@bitwerks

Hi!

Yes, it's been more than one year since I posted that link - and, as has been noted in other threads, it's no longer available...
