According to GSpot, the video codec is "WMV3" "WMP v9 (VC-1 Simple/Main)". GSpot says the codec is installed.

When I play an avi that has this video codec with any media player, my computer freezes up and I have to restart.
The only thing that can play them is VLC media player (which has crappy subtitles support).

I tried installing windows media player 11, hoping it would fix it. But nothing changed.

Please help.

Hi!

If that particular codec is giving you trouble, why don't you just stop using it to create your .AVIs?

Post a screencapture of the GSpot information screen here...
