been having an on going problem with the brightness/contrast/gamma fluctationing from how it appears in vegas, to the final output file. I'm using xvid atm to output, but I'll try a couple other encoders to see if I have the same inconsistancy. I was just wondering if this was a common problem, and if their was anyway to reduce these inconsistancies.

Most likely the common problem of player A (vegas) not using the same video renderer as player B (your software media player). Make sure you haven't set weird brightness/contrast/gamma in any renderer or the graphics card's config panels (or did you *search* for that already and your problem is different?).

Windows Media player, and media player classic both appear dark. It looks perfect in Vegas preview, and maybe a tiny bit better when I render out to wmv. When using mpeg2 or 4, it just looks too dark. I'm using default settings in vegas, so I haven't changed any gamma settings their, same with my graphics card. Is their anyway to check that their using the same renderer? Which one should I trust?
