I borowed from my friend Ulead DVD MovieFactory v6.0 Plus to dump DV material for further processing and I was disappointed as hell, not that the quality was bad but software itself. Main reason for that was way it works or I should say freezes or stop responding at all seconds after I hit the capture section of this application. Not that I have monster machine or something but from my lets call it year 2 years ago experiences I was able to do what I wanted, now I simply can't. Hardware Pentium IV 2.2 Ghz, 512 RAM and Panasonic miniDV camcorder model pv-dv203d Problem is that every time I see capture window this shitty software acts like CPU was running already 100% I simply can't do anything in terms of choosing video output that I want or I have to wait minutes till this piece of coded thing responds, and its not the CPU cycles since 99 of that beast is on idle. I was thinking about CyberLink DVD Suite v5.0 Pro, would that be something worth giving a try or another non usable all in one product.Could somebody give me a hint or maybe respond with tips about any other apps since I didn't do authoring stuff in 2 years I'm not familiar with latest trends and I'm searching for simple software that would allow me to dump DV material to lets say mpeg2 for further processing with other tools... thanks !

You may try freeware first; there's WinDV, DVIO, or Exsate DV Capture Live (see the "Links" sticky in this forum).
