Interface settings in DVD Decrypter

I/O Interface settings in DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0

Excuse me for my ignorance...:o
Using DVDD together with RipIt4Me and noticed
this setting isn't the DVDD default SPTI.
ElbyCDIO seems to be working though.
What are the difference and does it matter what
settings used as long as they work?
Any change in speed or something else?

I have seen posts on other forums which indicate you should use SPTI and that Elby CDIO produces some wacky errors.
