what is this ERROR??

Hi everone , just a quick question .Any one know what I/O error 23 means ??? Have not seen it mentioned any where before ( i did look )
This is my first post on what looks to be an excellent site . Have a happy new year to all....:)

It means:

CRC Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

On either your HD or your DVD.

thanks 4 the speedy response.Unfortunatly i dont know what that means???I have had no probs doing other dvds only this one im tryingat the moment.It errors before it finishes ripping the dvd(1st stage)

It sounds like the DVD you are trying to rip has errors on it. If you are using the internal ripping routines, try using VStrip. If that doesn't work, try CladDVD or another ripping program. Sometimes a different program will work around the errors.

Smartripper has gone where no other ripping program will. I have had a few dvd's that I could not get to rip properly with any other program that smartripper. I'm stuck on it!
