Has anyone been able to compile AviSynth 3.0 on Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy?
I really like get my hands on the binary or a package to install AviSynth 3.0.
I tried installing it but I get errors when trying to make the STLPORT library.

Has there been any discussion on this forum on how to get it installed on Ubuntu?

Thanks in advance.

I have compiled avisynth on Ubuntu 6.10 before but it is in an early stage that there's no real use of it. I couldn't do anything with it, either it crashed or action was unsupported. It's pretty disappointing...

Same question with Fedora Core 6.

I've got some troubles on the compilation of packages and there are few (nearly no) rpm available. I wanted to create some rpm for Fedora Core after being able to compile avisynth but as far as I can't do it...

If some as been able to do it :helpful:

I think it still needs more time.

Thanks,

It seems that I need to wait a bit (I hope) longer .
I will check out the link.

I would be glad to have a .spec file for avs3. Same for deb file. Fell free to write one :)

Just checking to see if there has been any more progress on AviSynth 3.0?
Looking through the forum it seems that this is not the case. Did I miss anything?

Thanks,

D

There was a thread about this awhile ago -- basically, Bidoche has stopped working on it completely and has no motivation to continue. So yes, she's dead, Jim.

Thanks for the update. This is indeed a shame, not having this great application in native Linux.

"Perfectly"?

As in, FFT3DGPU works? And no messing around with clumsy hacks (not that the actual apps are bad, the hackiness is inherent) like avs2yuv or avsproxy? Multithreading works great too?

It's not by any means perfect.

See avsfilter :

FFT3DGPU not work, but multithreaded (several avidemux2 with different avs script with binary windows dll's) work perfect.
I'm using this filter for scripts with fft3d filter (not fft3dgpu).
