I can't fit my .avi file on DVD, what is the best thing to do? Should I slice it in half and create 2 DVDs, how? And if not, what can I do? I'm trying to burn it with Nero 7.
Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Hi!
Your post is unclear. Are you simply trying to burn your .AVI, as an .AVI, to DVD - or are you trying to convert your .AVI to compliant DVD format and burn it as a DVD?
It might be helpful if you load the .AVI into GSpot and post a screen capture here...

I'm just trying to burn .avi onto dvd as .avi (I think) using Nero Vision. When I add the file it's giving me an error that file is too large and doesn't fit, even though I have it set to 'fit to dvd automatically'

I think you need to rethink what it is you really want to be done, and why you are posting your question here.
What's in the AVI file (codec, resolution, movie duration...) and what are you going to do with the (eventually) finished DVD? If you are going to watch it, on what?

While we await the approval of your posted (i presume) GSpot screengrab, let me suggest that if, as you state, you want to simply burn your .AVI as an .AVI, then in NERO select the "DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO)" icon (or just "UDF" or just "ISO") and simply burn as a Data DVD, not a "DVD-Video"...

I see from your attachment that you have a commercial movie.
So just backup the movie from your original DVD. Do not use an AVI as an intermediary.

I'm sorry to confuse everyone, I'm very new to this.
What I have is an .avi file that I have downloaded. I am trying to burn it onto a dvd, so that I could watch it on my DVD player.
I've been using Nero Vision before with other .avi files without a problem, but this one is too big. I'm just wondering what I can do to make it fit onto a DVD.
