Hello everyone. I have been doing some capture for a time but I was limited. Use DVApp but the video goes on the C: drive which is running out of space. Or use Stoik Capturer which requires a codec.
Si I looked for a DV Type 2 codec (to process filters in virtualdub) and I found : panasonic or the cedocida. I wanted to make a comparison of these 2 with the codec used by DVApp (in which i don't know what codec is used).

So, if someone could tell me how to make a DV-Type 2 codec comparison, it would be usefull for all the numeric cameramen. Thanks a lot.

I saw the MSU video quality comparison tool, but it doesn't work on DV-AVI format.

Thks for your help.

I assume you're capturing via Firewire with DVApp - in this case you're not actually using a codec. You're making a direct digital copy of what's on the tape, which is already encoded.

Try WinDV, which will let you capture to any drive (although it doesn't have a timer as DVApp does).

Please refrain from asking "what's best" questions, and read rule #12 again.
