Is it possible to create a libavcodec H.264 decoder only for Windows?

Lets say a very slim version of ffdshow.

Just 1 installer .exe, for H.264 decoding. I seek this for x264.nl

Then if this is possible, i only have to update libavcodec for H.264 or other important updates, compile and put online....and this way might even interest people in coding a multithreaded version of libavcodec.

This reminds me of my attempt to introduce a "slimmed-down" ffdshow package for only H.264 encoding... Which was still big.

So, I pretty much second this effort. :D

a slim ffdshow for h264, aac (lc, he, he+ps) would be too cool :)

Pity P264Decoder development appears to have stalled.

both direcshow and vfw? or only directshow?

aac decoding will be nice too, but what you think about including splitter?

Include a few more features and in the end you'll end up with ffdshow again. There already is a good AAC decoder, namely CoreAAC. It is based on libfaad2, same as used by ffdshow. Haali has made a great splitter. So why jam everything into one when the whole purpose is to have a standalone thingie?

This is so true I had to highlight it. I hope clsid doesn't mind. ^^
