I have been using DVDx lately to see if I can get around a few of the normal steps involved in ripping a quality AVI from a DVD. However, even though I have the 'audio/video synch' checked and fairly unoriginal settings, I will still end up with an AVI that has audio and video that are out of synch. I would like to know if there are some good ways to stop this problem before it starts. I've tried to fix it with things like VirtualDub, etc. but I'm still not having any luck.
I'm using a Pentium 4 with Windows ME and an ATI all-in-wonder for video, the video size of the AVI is always a mulitple of 16, etc. I'm also following the guide that came with DVDx...but still problems. Please tell me, if anyone's familiar with DVDx, if there is something I can do to clear this up so that it will just be a one job process...not ripping with countless hours of editing.
thanks.
P.S.-I also tried using CladDVD, etc., etc. in a four step rip/burn process but I still had the sound problems...although not as bad. Could it be the hardware???? Please tell me if more info. is needed.
