Anyone else tried ripping Casino Royale?
Dvd DeCrypter won't touch it and when ripping it with Smart Ripper, and get a weird looking output file (attached) Dvd Shrink won't process it...
Something I don't know?

Hi!
Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package (Incorporates RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVD Shrink). You can download this excellent freeware from:
www.ripit4me.org
While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...
BTW - FIRST start RipIt4Me, THEN put the DVD into your drive...

Some guys around here used to have problems ripping "Casino Royale" even with RiptIt4Me, however the latest beta update patch did the job. It should be downloaded separately, unzipped, and the main executable file should be substituted. Hope that works fine. :)

I continue to use (and used for "Casino Royale") RipIt4Me v.1.6.4 successfully.
Again, with the recent (last 3-4 months,or so) SONY releases, the critical thing to do is, as I said previously, FIRST start RipIt4Me, THEN put the DVD into your drive.
Doing so prevents the initiation of the "Autorun.inf" file (The running of which can confuse your PC into "not finding a DVD" in your drive).
BTW - The autorun files on the SONY releases DO NOT contain anything insidious or potentially harmful to your system...

are you guys talking about decrypting DVDs in the General section of that forum ;D
and setarip_old... now you have introduced a third colour to us - an even darker blue... you're driving me nuts. Reading your comments in the past is like being on speed... don't you think that a normal (black) colour format would suffice - you can still use your bold style of comments ;)

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread to "Decrypting"

I downloaded and used Ripit4me and it worked without the patch. Thanks for the info. It's appears to be a good program.

The "free" version of DVDFab Decrypter, is also very up-to date with the latest encryption busting algorithms :)

I successfully ripped Casino Royale with RipIt4Me 1.7 but it has a weird audio delay. DGIndex gives it a huge delay (like 91843ms or similar). Does anyone have the correct audio delay? Or is there a way to sync up the audio for x264/aac files? I was hoping there was a way to scroll through the movie and look for a slap or gun shot, then in the audio, find the peak where it happens and line them up or calculate the delay difference. Maybe I'm asking this in the wrong forum...

Yes, anyone who leaves AutoPlay on is asking for trouble. First thing I do after a new XP OS install is turn it off in the registry.

Yes - see FAQ 31 (http://www.ripit4me.org/faq.html#faq31)

If I keep DVDFab updated, I have not had a problem with any movie.
Why use 2 or 3 different programs.
The "free" version will let you decrypt just the movie or the whole disk with no problem.

I also successfully ripped (in movie only mode) this title, and my audio delay after demuxing the AC3 stream is somewhere in the neighborhood of -144ms.

I am new to this...Can you explain to me how to get a ripped movie to a DVD and not have problems with it. I have used DVD Shrink for some time now, but I have noticed that more and more I can not make a back up copy of allot of my DVD's, that is why I am here.

I tried two of our newest movies last night after downloading RI4M, Blood Diamond & The Holiday, and both times I got and error message that was something about PSL files (?). Could not find any documentation on this one.

Without the error message, we can not divine your problem. A log would be useful.
If your error message was that the PSL was not imported, see FAQ 24 (http://www.ripit4me.org/faq.html#faq24) and turn off autoimportPSL. You will need to manually import it each time.

Figured it out...This is the best tool I have used so far....I had three that I needed to but could not back up and it made it simple and I have played all three and could not find any errors or problem with the sound being off.

RI4M.....Fantastic!!
As I stated earlier on, DVD Shrink has proven well by me for allot of our back ups but lately I have noticed more and more problems with the BU's...Getting errors like invalid navigation structure, just various issues making the task of back up really frustrating. RI4M has just taken allot of the stress out of it, Thanks

Hello, i am having trouble with RI4M,
i am used to using dvdshrink, but it won't touch casino royale.
so i heard of this and gave it a try for an iso.
it worked and i can mount it and it plays, but its for a dual layer disc and my dvd player doesn't nadle those and i don't have any dual-layer disks?
any simple ways to fix it for a dvd-r disc???
if not i am willing to learn other ways.
Thanks!!!

Rip in file mode and re-author with DVD Shrink.
froggger
27th March 2007, 01:03
simple as that?
can i just extract the iso somehow???
that would be alot easier
blutach
27th March 2007, 01:06
No, the ArccOS is not removed. See Step 1 of the guide.
For ARccOS or RipGuard DVD protected DVDs, you should not try to open the ISO in DVD Shrink for processing - it will give you odd results as no file cleaning has been done. If you want to use DVD Shrink or another processing program before burning, use one of the other ripping options.
