Hi, everybody
Recently I have read this threat about XviD presets:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=119399
It says that Enc should be used for compressibility check.
However, if I use GK, will I get different compressibility check results using Enc?
Could you also suggest your opinion on whether these presets are useful or not?
Thanks in advance,
Irakli

wierd, may be you changed the Xvid settings in GK. Remember, different settings give you different comp check values.

Hello. From my experience, and Brother's John, there is no difference (or such a small one, that it can easily be ignored) between Enc compressibility check and the one built into GK. Of course you should configure the codec for GK's compressibility check as it is recommended for Enc in the presets (Didee's SixOfNine CQM, MSP=4 etc.).

I would modify some things here and there (like substitute V3 HR matrix with Heini's MR), yet the presets as a whole set of recommended XviD settings for different quality levels are very good quality-wise, not only IMO. Keep in mind they have been put together basing on experience of many people, and it took Teegedeck many months to achieve it (there's also a working thread on the presets, the old one).
Thanks in advance,
Irakli
You're welcome. ;)
