hi,

i just read another thread about the "old" Media Player in XP and wanna see my .avi's with it.
But every time I start it I get the message that something is worng with the rendering and a filter.

Version numvber is 6.4.09.1120

anyone who knows that problem?

Windows XP now uses the "Video Mixing Renderer" filter by default, while on earlier Windows systems the "Video Renderer" or "Overlay Mixer" was used. The difference is, that the new VMR filter implements other interfaces. So probably the old media player queries for the old interfaces, which the new filter does not provide.

Probably the only thing, that will work with XP is to load a GraphEdit file, because this already contains the reference to the right filter. Try it out. I don't have XP, so I can't say more.
