Please help with MeGUI Full Res PSP Encodes (atomchanger help)

I'm attempting to encode (using MeGUI) some video for play on my psp, custom firmware 3.03 OE which means FULL RES as long as its playable in the old 101ANV01 folder, ie must be special psp format using Atomchanger (correct me if I'm wrong here).

The problem comes in when I try to use atomchanger: the video shows up as 0 fps and 1 bps.

I think I got enough information on what the psp's AVC restrictions are: 1 b-frame, 1 b-frame reference, level 2.1, and main profile. With 3.03 OE, there are no resolution or bit rate limits.

I'm encoding the audio using FAAC codec; this works on okay on my computer and atomchanger reads it correctly.

When I try to play it on my PSP, the file shows up correctly, but wont play.

sorry, I can't understand where you are getting the mp4 out of megui from. Is it from x264's direct output, faac's direct output or from the mp4 muxer?

afaik new psp firmwares dont need the atomchanger stuff anymore

It's quite easy:
Make AVS with desired resolution (max 480x272 for Dark_Alex OE)
No AR signaling is supported (that was only in the old atomchanged files in mentioned folder)
Use MeGUI with PSP profile.
Maybe change bitrate or switch to crf. 384 kbits/sec or crf 22-24 seems enough.
Use only LC-AAC Stereo (regardless if Neroenc or Faac), 48 kbits/sec seems enough too.

Mux with into mp4 with Megui
Copy to PSP:/VIDEO
Runs smooth.

EG: Dont use HEAAC, it plays as LC, but brings Video to stutter.

MeGUI's muxer. The audio was also done in MeGUI if that wasnt clear. Also, i just tried muxing them with MP4Box, that gave the same result.

The videos don't even show up because the resolution hack by Dark Alex only applies to the 101ANV01 folder. We can only hope that in the future he combines the res and bitrate hacks with the usability of the Videos folder. (I've heard of people playing full res from /VIDEO, so maybe its a bit rate restriction).

I'm now trying ND AAC to see if that fixes the problem.

--IT WORKS!! I guess it didnt like FAAC. Here's what I did:

1) Convert video using MeGUI modified x264 psp profile as above,
2) Convert audio using ND AAC, 128 Kbps Adaptive, 48 Khz, low complexity
3) Mux using MeGUI MP4 muxer.
4) Atomise (yes, its still necessary to get the video to work in 101ANV01)
