View Full Version : O-GOP Problem

I wanted to add subtitle stream to DVD with a structure given below, but when demuxed it to elementary streams, video had O-GOPs and timing could not be determined properly. So after remuxing (tried DVDLab, MuxMan, IfoEdit etc.) player says that runtime is 1h 33 min 52 sec while it is 2 h 43 min 30 sec actually. Audio and subtitles run smooth but not video as it does not have proper navigation time codes. Can someone help me eliminate O-GOPs?

O-GOPS (I guess that means open GOPs) have nothing to do with timing. Very often the end of one VOB will have a sequence_end header, which terminates the mux.

Try to remove the Seg. End Codes in ReStream. It may cure the problem.
Open GOP is not an issue!

I tried ReStream's 'Remove Seq. End Codes' with no success. There was some hope when I checked 'Reset timestamps' option, but when I loaded back the .m2v file in DVDlab Pro the showed time was 2:10:53, while the original was 2:43:17. And DVD Maestro says: "Temporal Reference in GOP #58 (Zero-base) are out of seq. (0x10b000a)". So I continued with DVD lab Pro to see what would happen. Re-authored DVD was 1:38:10 - nearly two times less than the original. In my opinion, the problem is in the reported time, because there are no cut frames from the video or something, but I have no idea where the heck are those wrong times written in the stream.

Hi!
Have you tried using VOBBlanker to simply remove/blank that tiny item (1,292Kb)?

Or may be you can rip the streams at cell level to see which cell causes the problem. E.g. cells 1-17 as a group, 19-31 as another group and rip cell 18 separately. If each segment is ok then join them back in DVD Maestro.
