ok I'm kinda new on this... so pls take it easy on me.
all I wanted to do was to add some subs on a dvd.

ok here is what I did:

1.I ripped only the menus (DVDdecrypter) /file mode
2.I ripped the dvd (video, only the audio and the subs I wanted) with 'steam process' mode
3.For the subs from the dvd... (Extracted Vobsubs -Converted Vobsubs to Sup)
4.I found the subs I wanted to add on the dvd in (.srt) and with 'arpa kolla player' I've Syncronised them and with 'txt2sup' converted them to sup.
5. with 'ifoedit' and 'ifoupdate' I did the authoring
(let me say here that I've used ifoedit as the dvd was PAL!)

now everything was easy and the result exactly as I wanted it to be EXEPT one thing...

the dvd on playback was freezing everytime the chapter was changing and at the end in some random points.
I was wondering if anyone could help me on this...

I've searched around and all I found was similar problems but not this, exept one post but this again was several years ago and the versions have changed a lot.
is remuxin' a problem to all ifoedit versions? should I get the 0.6 version or should I stick with the one I got 0.971?
If yes, and that is for version 0.6- could pls someone point me a straight link to it ? as I can't found it, I did go to 'derrow's' site but I couldn't found it same with the ifoedit.com (no zip file there either).
If not could someone tell me what should I do(doing wrong)? (alternative for muxin'//for some reason muxman doesn't work on my machine)

thx

ok. after a wild search on google (page2..+.) I did find a link that goes directly on a zip of ifoedit 0.6
I will give the link because someone else may search the same tommorow
http://www.whitebunny.net/download?file=ifoedit_0.6.zip
BUT I still would like to here some opinion about my problem.
thx again

I've noticed a similar problem (playback freezes at chapter points) when I've used IfoEdit to join clips.
IMO, you should try to remux with muxman. It does a better job.

OK, then try DVDPlanner (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=110943). I don't use it often, but it should work.

thx again !
I did download the app but I haven't yet tested (I will though as I stil haven't got any solution).

I messed around to find out were the problem was with "muxman" and I did found something...
(If I don't use 'CCE' /or any other encoder/ and after that "muxman" -as I did on previews times, 'muxman" works!)
I've just tried out to go with the original source (without messing around with it first).

BUT this time I've got an other problem... with muxman's remux."
The playback on the pc is ok! but when I burn it and try to play it on the dvdplayer, in some parts it just plays like it's being "corrupted" / I don't how to explain this:
-it play's normal and at some point randomly gives green and purple pixels and freezes then jumps a head some sec and it play's normal again. on these parts the sound also it's being corrupted /jerky/.

any help on this one?

I'm really sorry, for the staff that I'm asking but I'm trying to find out what's going wrong here so I can continue ferther.

thx.

Hi!The playback on the pc is ok! but when I burn it and try to play it on the dvdplayer, in some parts it just plays like it's being "corrupted"1)
And how does the burned disc play on your PC?

2) What brand and MID of burnable media are you using?

3) What speed are you burning at?

Hi!1)
And how does the burned disc play on your PC?

2) What brand and MID of burnable media are you using?

3) What speed are you burning at?

1. On this one I feel kinda fool... as I didn't test the burned dvd but only the folder(with WinDvD)
I've just now done that.
ok well I didn't notice anything wrong on the pc but I only saw a few min from here and there.

I should say that on the standalone did it only in 2 or 3 points for a few sec. and that was only when I've played from the start, because when I move forward to those points, sometimes I get the problem and some others don't.
I don't think that is the standalone's problem and I believe this because:
-the original DVD play's perfectly
-the dvd compiled by muxin' with ifoedit play's perfectly as well(no problems like that it just freeze's for some -ms at the chapter points and in a random point in the last chapter)
-I've burned it twice
-I've tried it out on 2 standalones

2.I only use 'Sony' or 'TDK', this one was a TDK (-R /DVD5), usaly I use (+R) as they are more compatible. The drive I've used is an LG (bran new _2-3 months old)

3.Always (4x) for movie DVD's

I can't believe my luck :(, it seems that whatever I try to remux it with, doesn't work for me.

I'll say something that may sound foolish, but at this point I don't know what else... the last time (with muxman) I didn't put any chapters /1title-1chapter /now, is it possible that the problem has something to do with this?

anyway I'll try once more but this time I'll put chapters and I'll burn it with DVDShrink (the previews times I did it with Nero Recode).

THX for your replay

ok well I didn't notice anything wrong on the pc but I only saw a few min from here and there. If you really want to try to resolve your situation, play the burned DVD on your PC, all the way through, just as you did on your standalone player.

It's a process of elimination - burner, media, burning process, player(s), etc....

I've all ready done it and burned it again the way I said same way as the last time (muxman) but with chapters and DVDShrink.

The result (is funny): now the DVD hasn't the same error like before but it's almost the some thing as the first time with 'ifoedit'. it jumps everytime the film change's a chapter.

now about what you are saying: I did play the same disc on the pc and I watched the chapters cearfully - NO ERROR play's perfect. (I've watched half of it plus the chapter points)

BUT I still feel that like it's a stracture issue because:

-Those players have played too many dvd's that I've rent , bot, (copy) made my self or made from other files (like (.avi)with no problem on the chapter's or the film what so ever.
-I had the same problem on both dvd players with this dvd's at the same time (when it was freezing, playing like it's corrupted and now that jumps)
-It's the first time that this is happening with the players on a dvd playback and it's my first dvd authoring. I just can't be blind on this, if I had similar problems before with other dvd's on playback or I had make several dvd authorings with sucess. I would say ok!
but then again I maybe wrong about it... I just don't know.

:thanks: for the replies anyway I know you all want to help!

ok I think I maybe found why this is happening...
but if I'm correct I'll still need some help as I don't know how I could fix this.

the (.m2v) file has OPEN GOPS //maybe this is why it jumps on the chapters

I did play the same disc on the pc and I watched the chapters cearfully - NO ERROR play's perfectThen there's nothing wrong with the disc. It's very likely (whether you choose to believe it or not) a matter of media incompatibility with your standalone player(s). Try using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden ("T-Y") burnable media...

ok, I'll try it out!
It's just strange that for so many years didn't happend before.

:thanks: again
