why gskill? Corsair ram would be my pick, and getting it CAS5 would let you spend more elsewhere. If you want to know what the terms mean, go ask hardocp or someone :)

And I'd ditch the WD drive for a couple Seagates. I don't trust WD drives, even if they did ante up to Seagate's 5-year warranty plan. By far the largest number of drives I have seen fail have mostly been WD.

4-4-4-12 Memory timings
Really boring for a non-techie :p

Usually, on Intel Core 2 Duo, lower the values and higher the frequencies, equals... better performance
OC version... probably this
http://www.bfgtech.com/8800GTSOC_640_PCIe.html
factory overclocked:
Core Clock: 550MHz
(vs. 500MHz standard)
>> Shader Clock: 1300MHz
(vs. 1200MHz standard)

If it's under warranty, yes...

It definitely is. Most companies sell factory overclocked video cards. My evga 7800gt came overclocked to near 7800gtx levels stock, which was an awesome deal last year.

about your power supply: i would definately go for a beafier one. at least 500 watts, but if you can afford it, try to get one around 550 or 600 watts. and also, buy from a well know brand, like silverstone, antec, enermax, or seasonic.
my psu just died because it was overstrained, and i am very angry!!! it is not worth skimping on a part that is that crucial to your system.

Ditto! Especially these days, a strong PSU is a requirement, ESPECIALLY considering that you have a GeForce 8, and it looks like you plan to overclock! Try to get one with multiple +12V rails, though most over 450-500w do.

how come you're saying that i'm going to overclock ?

Well... I guess you're not. But why else would you get CAS4 DDR2 800 RAM for an E6600? You really should, at least a little :D An aftermarket heatsink would be nice too ( I like Zalman )

I don't think your attitude to OC'ing is permanent. When you see elsewhere what C2Ds are capable of... :D
Believe me, running E6600 at 3.6 GHz.

Yeah...
You won't see much improvement with 800 over 667 or even 533 if you're not overclocking.
Seriously though, it doesn't cost much more, and if you ever DO decide to overclock, the RAM won't be holding you back!
Practically everyone can hit ~2.8-3 GHz with the stock cooler and a half decent motherboard. You've got a killer motherboard for overclocking, it would be such a shame not to!! :D
